Lyrics Moving through the Night

Nothing’s Changed

In the old hard days, long ago, men were killed and children were torn.

The strongest men, conquered land, left a trail of blood and a path of death

Nothing’s changed, but we inflict the pain in a civilized way.

Nothing’s gained, but we skip the bone, straight on to the brain

Waiting for the tide to change

Waiting for the hurt to fade

Waiting here to feel, breathe, love in a different way

Waiting for the tide to change

Waiting for the day to break

But I feel…

In the great World Wars, a while ago, people driven in the corner but they hadn’t done anything wrong

It took a lot of burns, to control the flames and a lifelong scar to remember the pain

Nothing’s changed, but we inflict the pain in a civilized way

Waiting for the tide to change

When you feel the hurt pumping through your veins

Waiting for the tide to change

Waiting for the hurt to fade

Waiting here to feel, breathe, love in a different way

Waiting for the tide to change

Waiting for the day to break

But I feel…

I’m slipping away, slipping away, fading away, slipping away

Take the life

Gonna take the pain away

Gonna take the lies away

Gonna take the lies, take the lies, take the lies, take the lies away

Waiting for the tide to change

Waiting for the day to break

But I feel, I feel

I’m Slipping away, slipping away

Waiting for the tide to change

Waiting for the hurt to fade

But I feel, I’m fading away

Take the Chance

She said grab the past, to realize, what’s wrong with your life

You gotta turn back time, preserve what’s right and recapture who you used to be

 I said talent and freedom

Where did it lead us

We didn’t get it right

 Affection or passion

Dressed in a fashion

We never fitted right

Fitted right

Fitted right

It never fitted right

Dirty devil at the door I shut a long ago, spying on my life through an old key hole

I said whow this is wrong

Like a torn out page from a book I closed, straight in my face, what I feared most,

I said whow this is wrong

I’ve had my memory frozen

Damaged and broken

But you lit up my darker side

 Affection or passion

Dressed in a fashion

We never fitted right

Fitted right

It never fitted right

The truth is that I’m lost.

She said, turn back time, preserve what’s right and recapture how you used to feel.

But I don’t want my steady little life, happy after all, to be blown in a million pieces by a cannon ball

I said whow this is wrong

The truth is that I’m lost. You know I’m lost

Last man Standing

Brain freeze, from dancing to the beat till lying on the street

Flashback, the rhythm of the drums and I

Freak out, drinks all on the house, the music is loud

Space time, moving through the night, mind in the sky

High, still free, full of love

From moving on my feet till lying on the street

And brain freeze, the body’s on a break, asleep but still awake

Flashback, just a little pill, causing all the thrills

And I, feel free, full of love, and ecstasy

I’m the last man standing, but I’m temporary on the ground

I’ll be back on my feet until the day that I’m six feet underground, safe and sound

I’m the last man standing, but I’m temporary on the ground

I won’t be walking soon my dear, because the last man standing has fallen down, flat on the ground

Help me, I’m lying on the street and dying for some heat

I need you, come on and pick me up, and I’ll be back on top

I know life, felt like this before, I’ll swim back to the shore

And be back, feeling so alive alive

And I’ll be free, full of love, and ecstasy

I’m the last man standing, but I’m temporary on the ground

I won’t be walking soon my dear, because the last man standing has fallen down, going down

Well I’m out here all alone, I can’t make it on my own, I got a killer in my veins, and I’m dying for some change

But I’ve been gone, too damn long

I was the last man standing, but I nailed myself to the ground

And I don’t think I’ll be walking soon my dear, because the last man standing has fallen down.

I was the last man standing, but I nailed myself to the ground

I won’t be walking soon my dear, because the last man standing has fallen down.

Going down, flat on the ground

Going down, I couldn’t make a sound

Going down, flat on the ground

Real Love

I’ve been losing, gambling on a dead end street

So take me, back to reality

Cause if I read this, I need this, I breathe it, I can’t get you out of my mind

And if you show me, you know me, you throw me around in this two of a kind

Two of a kind it is

Tell me what’s the price for a ticket, back to security

Cause I’ve been moving moving moving till the end of a dead end street

Just a step, one small step, that’s enough for me

Just a step, one small step and I can make it real

Cause real love is everything, it means the world to me

Hey real love is challenging, it gets the best out of me

Hey real love, real life, that could make me feel like I’m at home

Cause if I read this, I need this, I breathe it, I can’t get you out of my mind

And if you show me, you know me, you throw me around in this two of a kind

Two of a kind it is

Cause real love means everything, it means the world to me

Real love is challenging, it gets the best out of me

Hey real love, real life, that could make me feel like I’m at home

 At home

Ain’t the one

I know you've been searching for love all your life

Got lost when you found some, you stranded every time

You collected painful memories in your diary quite a while

Sorrow was out on the prowl

Thank god I’ve met you, you added with a smile

Brought me happiness and even ended desperate times

Too tired of deception, too weak for a fight

Convinced you’d found the love of your life

But I know I ain´t the one, hey I know that I ain´t, I ain´t the one

Said I know, I ain´t the one, hey I know that I ain´t, I ain´t the one

For you now

Life’s never easy and true love is hard to find

specially when you’re dealing with the pain of being the one who’s left behind

Now I got your hopes up, for the first time in your life

But I’m afraid it will be over in a while

Cause I know I ain´t the one, hey I know that I ain´t, I ain´t the one

Said I know, I ain´t the one, hey I know that I ain´t, I ain´t the one

Cause this is torture and this is pain, I’ll be moving on and things will never be the same

This is the moment, we can´t fix cracks, I´m at the other side of the bridge, and never coming back no

Cause I know I ain´t the one, hey I know that I ain´t, I ain´t the one

Said I know, I ain´t the one, hey I know that I ain´t, I ain´t the one

I aint the one, I aint the one, I don’t know what you believe but I ain’t the one

Said I know, I ain´t the one, hey I know that I ain´t, I ain´t the one

Moving through the Night

People see me moving through the city, people see me walking through the night

People see me blending with a shadow, in the kingdom of the blind

In the night, in the night, in the night, in the night

People see me moving through the city

People see me walking through the night

People see me moving through the darkness

When I move, in the night

But it´s raining in the water

And it´s raining on the streets

And it´s freezing in the night time

It swept me off my feet

And I know that I’m a liar and I know that life’s untrue and I know that I’m a sinner

But I’m out here because of you

Painted by the darkness of the nighttime, woken by a sound of shattered glass

People see me moving through the moonlight while the sunshine lies to rest

Like the rest, like the rest, in the night, in the night

But it´s raining in the water

And it´s raining on the streets

And it´s freezing in the nighttime

It swept me off my feet

Hey I know that I’m a liar and I know that life’s untrue and I know that I’m a sinner

But I’m out here because of you

People see me moving through the city, disappearing in the night

Overpowered by a motion and threatened by a sound

People see me moving through the city

People see me moving out of sight

Cause I´m cursed by the night

But it´s raining in the water

And it´s raining on the streets

And it´s freezing in the nighttime

It swept me off my feet

Hey I know that I’m a liar and I know that life’s untrue and I know that I’m a sinner

But I’m out here because of you

One empty Heart

In a distant street, that only fate can find

I heard something you should know

There’s a different life my friend

The one that you can’t lead

I just wanted you to know

There’s a distant slide in a different lane

And you’re wasting time when you fail to change

 Tell me I’m wrong

Worlds from where I belong

But I know you’re not that strong

Once again

Tell me you’re right and loving life

Harmonies in your life

But the truth is in your eyes

Once again

There’s a different path you see

A bridge you’ve never crossed

I just thought that you should know

Every troubled life‘s got a brighter side

And you’re wasting time when you fail to fight

 Tell me I’m wrong

Worlds from where I belong

But I know you’re not that strong

Once again

Tell me you’re right and loving life

Symphonies in your mind

But the truth is in your eyes

Look around around, it’s a beautiful life, it’s a beautiful life, you need a change to shine

Look around around, it’s a beautiful life, it’s a beautiful life, you need a change to shine

Look around around, it’s a beautiful life

If something is a missing it’s time to look around, don’t waste your life in anger worrying feeling down.

Danger’s hiding after every step you take, but that don’t mean you shouldn’t change

Living in sorrow, facing troubles in your life, sorry for yourself and breaking down to cry,

But if you’re not that strong, follow me

 Just follow me

Rough on Me

Nerve wrecked and awake for twenty hours

Carrying a ring that I could barely afford

Proposed at a candlelight dinner

And you replied with a two letter word

I said hey, you’re kind of rough on me tonight

I said hey, you’re kind of rough on me tonight

I sold you a shiny bright future

You rented me a stolen heart

Crying like the Mississippi river

Moaning that I’d moved too fast

You said darling I gotta go now, I’m moving away

The storm is in my mind as the lies are redefined and the haze is spreading night and day

Something in your eyes, it made me realize, you’ve hurt me more than I could ever take

Silence moving in, a war we couldn’t win, even now the storm has died

Something in your face, an awful lot of change, you’re rough on me tonight

You turned down the music and the flowers

And left us listening to a silent song

Got lost inside a trap of self destruction

Wouldn’t let me speak or even prove you’re wrong

I said hey, you’re kind of lost in life tonight

I said hey, you’re kind of lost in life tonight

I said hey, you’re kind of lost in life

But someway, someday, I’ll be yours and everything you’ll need

Somehow, someway, we’ll be strolling down an endless lane

Someday, someway, you’ll me mine until the end of time

Someway we’ll get it right

Packed with a temper and a suitcase

And locked up in an overcoat

You left with an oversized lecture

But the message fitted on a little note

I said hey, you’re kind of rough on me tonight

I said hey, you’re kind of rough on me tonight

Mad at Me

We’ve been riding on a rainbow, moving to the light,

crawling to the sunshine, reeling out of sight

Been cursed with all the blessings, touched by all that’s right,

moved by everything that’s kind

I look up to the world and look up to the sky,

don't look down onto a beggar, moving through the night

I think before I reason, look before I step

I clean before I leave a mess

So don’t be mad at me

Then I won’t be mad at you

Don’t be tired of me

Then I won’t be tired of you,

cried you’re in the middle of the road

and you just can’t pick a side

We’ve been sliding down a rainbow, gliding on the light,

Freedom as a fortune, miles above the ground

We never needed money, never lived a lie

That’s something you should realize

So don’t be mad at me

Then I won’t be mad at you

Don’t be tired of me

Then I won’t be tired of

You are the reason

You are the life

You’re all I wanted

To make it right

So don’t be mad at me

Then I won’t be mad at you

Don’t be tired of me

Then I won’t be tired of you,

cried you’re in the middle of the road

and you just can’t pick a side

My Place

Trust me, I know you will be fine in here

You’re under my wings so there’s nothing to fear

Believe me, the world’s not gonna hurt you here

Soon the pain will disappear my friend

cause you are in the place, where no one can hurt you

god will protect you here

This cracking wood, for warmth and for shelter

Trust me dear cause you are in my place

The night falls, down into a sleepless dream

But soon your wounds will all be healed my friend

cause you are in the place, where no one can hurt you

god will protect you here.

This cracking wood, for warmth and for shelter

Trust me dear cause you are in my place

This is my place, this is my harbor

And I know you won’t get lost in here

This is my place, my place, and I know you will be safe in here

In here, trust me dear cause you are in my place

This is my place, this is my harbor

And I know you will be fine in here

This is my place, my place, and I know you won’t get hurt in here

You’re in my life, you’re in my harbor, and I know you won’t get lost in here

This is my place, my place, and I know you will be safe in here
